Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist with interest in Neuropsychiatry to join our team at Cygnet Brunel.
Cygnet Brunel is a 32-bed Neuropsychiatric service, offering neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with complex acquired brain injury and mental health needs.Our focus is to create a therapeutically rich environment which engages our service users and provides the opportunity to minimise their challenging behaviour and maximise their independence.
Job Role
- As an SLT you will be working directly with a caseload of patients with complex needs to assess their speech, communication and language needs (SCLN) in all environments.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, you will also work with all staff across the hospital to support the implementation of the therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approach demonstrating an interest in upskilling the workforce.
- You will work within the parameters of the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric / neurodegenerative services as part of a small on-site SLT team, whilst still having scope to be creative and innovative in your approach.
- You will provide quality assessment, interventions and be skilled in both SCLN and EDS needs.
- You will be part of a company-wide SLT service and contribute to the service enhancement.

- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose and play a key role in the management of men with acquired brain injuries, behaviours that challenge and other diagnosed / undiagnosed conditions. Under the guidance of the supervising SLT, you will be able to train others, promote good practice and maintain a successful inclusive communication environment.

- You will have access to a network of over 50 SLTs in the Cygnet Group working within different specialisms including Forensic Practice, Learning Disability, Autism, and inpatient CAMHS.
