An exciting opportunity has become available for a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist with interest in Neuropsychiatry to join our team at Cygnet Brunel.

Cygnet Brunel is a 32-bed Neuropsychiatric service, offering neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with complex acquired brain injury and mental health needs.Our focus is to create a therapeutically rich environment which engages our service users and provides the opportunity to minimise their challenging behaviour and maximise their independence.

Job Role

  • As an SLT you will be working directly with a caseload of patients with complex needs to assess their speech, communication and language needs (SCLN) in all environments.
  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, you will also work with all staff across the hospital to support the implementation of the therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approach demonstrating an interest in upskilling the workforce.
  • You will work within the parameters of the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric / neurodegenerative services as part of a small on-site SLT team, whilst still having scope to be creative and innovative in your approach.
  • You will provide quality assessment, interventions and be skilled in both SCLN and EDS needs.
  • You will be part of a company-wide SLT service and contribute to the service enhancement.

  • A Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and Current State Registration with HCPC and membership of professional body (RCSLT)

  • Strong clinical and professional skills

  • Experience or keen interest in the field of neurological conditions

  • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others

  • Good organisational and project management skills

  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Enthusiasm, motivation and passion
