Job responsibilities

We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager (RMN/RNLD)who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.

Please Note this is a Temporary contract starting from 1st December for 9 months

Youll be working 40hours a weekat Cygnet Newham House. This isour 20-bed neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility providing rehabilitation for women affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI).

The hospital provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery alongside offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntingtons Disease, a placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

The hospital is a modern, purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge as a result of their ABI.

Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment to engage the women in our care and offer them the opportunity to maximise their independence.

Your day-to-day

  • Provide the highest standard of nursing care & be a role model to junior staff
  • Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the ward & ensure co-operation between clinical departments
  • Implement clinical & administrative policies, procedures & regulations
  • Ensure compliance by others of policies, procedures & regulations
  • Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings & development of evidence/ research-based practice
  • Participate in the managers on-call system to provide the first point of contact for ward-based staff, outside of normal working hours
  • Lead by example to ensure consistently high standards of clinical care & documentation
