Job responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Hospital Manager to lead our service at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate to ensure the highest standards of care and operational excellence. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving quality, performance, and positive outcomes for both service users and staff.

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate is a 36 bed, long-established mental health hospital that provides an emergency admissions service across two acute wards.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering against the following objectives:

  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the hospital consistently meets or exceeds external inspection standards, achieving positive outcomes in all regulatory reviews.
  • Quality of Care: Maintain high-quality ratings across all domains, with a particular focus on safety, ensuring no area falls below expected standards.
  • Financial Sustainability: Deliver strong and sustainable financial performance in line with agreed budgets.
  • Service Growth: Maximise occupancy levels by ensuring services are responsive, effective, and meeting the needs of those we support.
  • Workforce Effectiveness: Build a stable, engaged workforce by minimising agency reliance, reducing staff turnover, and promoting efficient staffing practices.
