Job summary
Are you a Psychology graduate looking for your next step are you someone people go to when distressed or troubled, someone who knows the right thing to say or the right thing to do, someone who does not judge, does not make assumptions and can see the potential in everyone. As a Social Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on an in-patient ward, with supervision, support and training you will deliver interventions defined within the personalised care plan, spend time engaging, connecting and supporting service users, families, carers and friends through their recovery pathway. You will help facilitate activities/groups and ward based projects and be actively involved in every aspect of their physical, psychological and social care of people who uses our service You will be expected to work 38.5 hours a week.
Main duties of the job
Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards. Our team works hard to create a cheerful, non-institutional environment, and to support individuals in their recovery and personal transformation. We make use of a range of therapies including psychodynamic, family, occupational, art, drama and complementary therapies. We also believe very strongly in patient-centred care, and involve our service users in shaping their own treatment, and in all aspects of hospital life.
About us
Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.
