We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Taunton.

This role will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This is a 5 month fixed term contract to cover maternity.

Cygnet Hospital Taunton provides acute inpatient admissions service for men and women and a specialist inpatient service for men diagnosed with a learning disability.

This role will be based on one of our Acute wards.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the Qualified Psychologist with:

  • Contributing to assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)
  • Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes
  • Administration, audit, research and service development

  • Qualified to Masters degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
