Job summary

Cygnet Cedars & Cygnet Ashbrook are recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Assistant to carry out the day-to-day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure the services are maintained in a safe and efficient functional order. Cygnet Cedars: Cygnet Cedars is a 24-bed high-dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge. We accept emergency referrals and the team are experienced in managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure the transition for each individual is as smooth as possible. Cygnet Ashbrook: Supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and behaviours that challenge. Individuals are supported to hold their own tenancy agreement with a registered housing association. Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday either 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm. Successful candidates must have a full UK driving licence and access to their own car.

Youre day-to-day...

  • Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
  • Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
  • Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
  • Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
  • Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
  • Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights

You are...

  • Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
  • Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
  • Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
  • Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
  • Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude

Please note successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
