Main duties of the job
Cygnet Hospital Taunton provides acute inpatient admissions service for men and a specialist inpatient service for men diagnosed with a learning disability.
Each individual in our care begins a personalised care pathway that helps them develop necessary skills to move towards a less restrictive setting in the community.
We want the men in our care to make their own choices and live as independently as they are able to and our in-house multi-disciplinary team (MDT) supports them with our model of care in which we adopt a values based social model of disability with My Choice, My Voice, My Life sitting at the heart of the model.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and have overall medical responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team ((Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers etc.)
The post holder will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.
All our patients are NHS patients. This role would be suitable for anyone who would like to continue working in the NHS in a part-time role and would like to explore opportunities in an independent sector.
