We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Occupational Therapy Team to support recovery and rehabilitation activities in the integrated care pathway at Cygnet.

Main duties of the job

The Occupational Therapy Assistant role involves planning and implementing therapeutic activities appropriate to the needs, choices and interests of individuals in our care, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will also be working with the in-house MDT which is designed to support the individual in our care throughout their journey with us.

Female Mental Health Adults (Personality Disorder)

Summary of the site

Alders Clinic is a highly specialist personality disorder service for women with complex needs.

  • MDT consists of Hospital Manager, Head of Care, Psychiatry, Nursing Team, Psychology, Drama Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
  • Caseload, up to 16 patients, 20 bed service.
  • Occupational Therapy Team consists of Senior/Head Occupational Therapist, Band 5 Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Cygnet Alders Clinic provide a specialist psychologically informed personality disorder pathway across three living areas; Severn, for assessment and stabilisation; Avon, where service users move as they engage and progress with their treatment pathway: and Coln, which focuses on transitioning to the community.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
