This role is designed for Paramedics who are keen to undertake frontline 999 operations as part of our established contract, with additional opportunites for event and transfer operations.
Utilising our breadth of operational activity, this role is ideal for those who enjoy variety or who wish to develop a wealth of experience across a number of sectors, surrounded by a clinically focussed team. Working frontline with first class equipment and vehicles with additional opportunities to work at events with First Responders through to Critical Care Teams, and across a range of specialist activity, this role is ideal for dynamic and driven individuals.

Main duties of the job
As an ECS Paramedic, you will provide care to patients across a variety of sectors, from frontline 999 ambulance operations to event medicine and transfers.
You will be expected to undertake appropriate clinical decision making, interventions and skills to deliver high quality care for our patients, supported by robust governance and our senior clinical team.
We are looking for hard working and driven candidates who are keen to learn and develop and broaden their experience, whilst learning from the wider multidisciplinary team.

Operational Delivery
Use your advanced driving skills to respond to medical emergencies
Safely transfer patients to and from ambulances, using specialist equipment and manual handling skills
Work alongside other ECS clinicians responding to a range of ambulance activities
Complete thorough handover reports and record all patient treatment information
Carry out equipment checks of ambulances to ensure they are safe for operational use
Carry out all duties, working within the defined scope of practice and adhering to protocols, policies, SOPs and clinical guidelines, seeking appropriate clinical advice and/or support as required.

Deliver high quality patient care across a range of operational activity
Operate within the ECS scope of practice and ensure high quality, appropriate patient contact and documentation
Ensure that ECS clinical standards are met and exceeded at all times, making effective clinical decisions within guidelines and ECS policies & procedures
Treat patients with respect and dignity and maintain confidentiality in relation to personal data, ensuring it is processed lawfully
You will lead the assessment of patients and administer essential care in high pressure situations

Qualifications
Essential
- Hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and be free from any suspensions, cautions or conditions of practice
- Previous experience working working frontline and undertaking pre-hospital clinical activity
- Hold a full UK driving license with a maximum of 3 penalty points
- Hold IHCD or Futurequals L3 Emergency Ambulance Driving qualification
Desirable
- Diploma in Immediate Medical Care (Dip IMC) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
- FdSc/BSc Paramedic Science or equivalent
- Relevant post-registration qualification e.g. ALS, PHTLS
Experience
Essential
- At least 2 year post-registration frontline experience
- Evidence of post registration professional development
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the professional clinical guidelines and codes of conduct appropriate to this role

- Physically fit and able to undertake the physical aspects of the role
