Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Radiology Nursing Team. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing a wide range of diagnostic procedures.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective and evidencebased nursing care throughout the patient journey
  • Support radiologists, radiographers and sonographers during interventional procedures
  • Undertake patient assessment, preparation and postprocedure monitoring
  • Administer and monitor medications in line with Trust policy and NMC standards
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues
  • Recognise and escalate clinical concerns, incidents or risks appropriately
  • Support and supervise students, trainees and new staff where appropriate
  • Contribute to audits, service improvement and the learning environment
  • Maintain professional development and NMC revalidation requirements

  • Flexible, organised and patient focused

Desirable:

  • Experience working within aRadiology or procedural environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff

Additional Information

  • Ability to wear radiation protective clothing for prolonged periods is required
  • Commitment to infection prevention, risk management and safeguarding is essential
  • Flexible working approach to meet service needs
