Main duties of the job

About the Role

As an experienced Learning and Development Manager, you will be responsible for the introduction of our brand training and future apprenticeship programmes. You will be responsible for ensuring that the high quality training standards are maintained across the department, working with your team of learning and development specialists to regularly monitor and review content to ensure we equip our staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide excellent service, safety, and a patient centred approach to service users across the G4S Patient Transport Services contract.

The successful candidate will work with the Clinical Lead and the wider business to identify training requirements, facilitate and deliver ad-hoc Training where necessary, work with the Team to determine, plan and deliver the most efficient and effective way to meet business training needs within the Contract. In addition, you will provide overall management of the learning and development department.

Job responsibilities

ome of the key responsibilities for this role are;

  • Collaborate with Governance, Health and Safety and Operations departments to identify lessons learned and update training material to reflect the necessary changes.
  • To maintain and implement an annual training plan to incorporate both statutory, mandatory, induction training and apprenticeship programs
  • Offer expert and specialist advice on training and education needs for the business
  • Work with the Clinical and Development Lead to oversee the development of training needs analysis and develop associated policies and procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of training course programmes to ensure that the quality of instruction, content and teaching materials meet a high standard.
  • Maintain own training delivery skills and course knowledge to ensure the training being
  • delivered by the team is appropriate and relevant, suggesting change when required
  • Deliver training when needed at times of lower resilience for either short durations or entire courses as and when required.
  • Collate all training records on a centralised system.
  • To provide continuing and ongoing support to the L&D specialists throughout their careers, enabling their continued professional development.
  • To facilitate educational support, mentorship, and feedback to all L&D staff taking specific and focused responsibility for their education, development and learning
  • Participate in developing and implementing service improvement, research and policies, promoting G4S PTS strategic objectives and supporting specific initiatives.
  • To participate in the delivery of key objectives as defined by clinical governance / Health & Safety legislation and wider legislative bodies.
  • Facilitate the learning and development of staff identified as requiring remedial support in a manner that challenges poor performance and empowers individuals to achieve their potential
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging transparency and support in an open and honest culture where staff feel able to challenge poor practice and suggest improvements to service delivery and patient care
  • Deliver all training packages in accordance with awarding body guidelines
  • Supporting the Governance team to make ensure Training records are accurate and correct

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have a clinical background with the ability to demonstrate previous experience within a Learning and Development environment.
