Job summary
Bruton Surgery, part of Symphony Healthcare Services, has a
vacancy for a Healthcare Assistant, to provide patient care including
phlebotomy, health checks, simple dressings and injections.
We are a small but very friendly and supportive surgery
where patient care and staff well-being are our key priorities.
Ideal applicants will have a genuine passion for patient
care, the ability to communicate effectively and good organisational skills to
ensure they manage their own clinics and workload.Experience in general practice would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given where needed.
This post is based at Bruton Surgery but may also include
working at Wincanton Medical Centre.
We have a permanent, part time vacant post of 24 hours per week.
Note: specific working patterns (days and times) will be agreed during the interview process.
Pay Rate:
£12.21 per hour, rising to £12:50 on the completion of a successful 6-month probation period.

Main duties of the job
As a Symphony Healthcare Assistant, you will:
- Provide essential support to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring patients receive high-quality care.
- assist with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Work under the guidance of registered nurses or other senior healthcare professionals.
- Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), observing and reporting any changes in patient condition.
- Ensuring the clinical area is clean, tidy, and safe, and assisting with the use of equipment like hoists and wheelchairs.
- Providing emotional support, engaging in conversation, and assisting with communication.
- Accurately documenting care provided and any observations in patient records.

- To undertake Doppler testing
- Blood Pressure Monitoring following practice hypertension
