Endoscopy Decontamination Supervisor

Job summary

To support the Endoscopy Senior Supervisor and Endoscopy Decontamination Manager in the day to day running of the endoscopy decontamination services. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Technician workforce is trained and undertake their duties in a safe, effective and timely manner in line with statutory and regulatory standards. Under the direction of the Endoscopy Decontamination Manager, the post holder will be accountable for the quality of the service and effective communication with the service users to maximise service delivery. They will ensure service standards are delivered by the effective liaison with the clinical teams, other service users, KFM managers and external Suppliers. The supervisor will be accountable for ensuring compliance with the regulatory standards, JAG Guidance and HTM01-06 and resolving service issues, liaising with the various operational teams to meet their decontamination service requirements. The role will involve working a full rota pattern over 7 days between 8am and 8pm.

Youll lead technicians, ensure compliance with regulations, and act as Deputy Designated User for endoscopy decontamination. What youll do: - Oversee daily delivery of a high-quality endoscope decontamination service - Ensure safe use and maintenance of equipment (washer disinfectors, RO units, drying cabinets) - Lead, train, and support technicians, ensuring compliance with SOPs and best practice - Liaise with clinical teams, KFM managers, and external suppliers to resolve service issues - Monitor resources, audits, and stock to maintain efficiency and quality - Support implementation of Quality Management System requirements

Salary: £31,500 - £35,500 per annum + up to 12 % annual bonus

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate others

  • Flexible, logical, and committed to high standards

Desirable:

  • Supervisory qualification

  • Experience in endoscopy decontamination at supervisor or technician level

  • Knowledge of decontamination legislation and electronic tracking systems
