Job summary
The Pharmacy Manager will ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of outpatient pharmacy services in accordance with national and local standards.
To be responsible for ensuring the Outpatient Pharmacy Service meets the required
KPIs and remedial action is taken when necessary
To have delegated accountability for ordering and management of all medicines within Outpatient Pharmacy.
To provide leadership to and act as a role model for the staff of KFM Outpatient
Pharmacy.
To support the delivery of a high quality and timely service for patients.
To develop effective working relationships with prescribers and other key Trust
stakeholders.
To be responsible for the management and development of pharmacy staff and lead
effective recruitment, selection, induction and performance management of an
appropriately qualified and flexible team.
Main duties of the job
All activity undertaken is consistent with maintaining registration of the
premises with GPhC.
The Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist) Regulations 2008 are
adhered to at all times and support that the Pharmacy Record is maintained at all times.
Adequate and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures are in place as
required by GPhC.
To clearly communicate and document arrangements which are to apply during the absence of the responsible pharmacist from the premises.
Prescription records are legally compliant, in accordance with GPhC
guidance.
To agree, monitor and support the service meets key performance indicators for all
aspects of the out-patient. .
To work with the Superintendent and prescribers, as agreed via KPIs to enhance and develop the out-patient service
Patient information leaflets, posters etc. are all kept up to date and
present a professional image.
To provide clinical and professional leadership and supervision of the pharmacy team, with appropriate record keeping.
To support all pharmacy staff have appropriate opportunities and support for training and development and are acting in accordance with the Code of Ethics and requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
