Role: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: SSL Hub

Hours: 37.5

Salary: £25898.45-£28416.50 per annum

Role Purpose:

To be responsible for the shared supervision of warehouse distribution services,warehouse operatives and the day to day running and organisation of the warehouse functions.

Working with the Transport & Logistics Management, in order to ensure an effective, quality, andefficient service is provided.

Key Relationships:Internal: Multi-disciplinary Teams, Service Users, Carers, Estates & Facilities Managementand Staff.

External:

General Public, Visitors, Suppliers of Goods and Services

Main duties of the job

Supervisory/Management

  • Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination and monitoring of the Warehouse operatives.
  • Supporting Portering & Transport Team (PTT) provided, identifying changes in service provision.
  • To assist in first line negotiations regarding variations to contract.
  • Responsible for the operational functions within the warehouse facility, staffing, accurate record keeping, stock rotation, distribution, using staff within the Transport Department.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of data records necessary for the provision of accurate statistical returns/reports e.g., sickness, annual leaves, vacancies etc.
  • Responsible for the delivery of staff Annual Development Review, that identifies their training needs and service delivery.
  • Responsible for carrying out Regular Management Supervision with staff on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Responsibility to ensure that all staff attends meetings, training, or refresher courses to ensure full compliancy of the Trust Statutory Mandatory Training Programme.

Operational

  • Responsible for dealing with all complaints quickly and efficiently ensuring all relevant documentation is completed. Bringing to the attention of the Transport & Logistics Manager any matters of a more serious nature that may affect the smooth running of the department.
  • Responsible for reporting any changes which may impact on services
  • Responsible for monitoring the use of vehicles and their compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that all Vehicle cleaning materials are correctly stored/ marked and are easily identifiable in accordance with COSHH regulations.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 3 or Equivalent in Team
  • Leading/Supervisory
  • Clean, current driving licence held for 5 years.
  • Manual handling Certificate
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • COSHH Certificate
  • Medical Gas Safety Training (BOC)

Desirable

  • NVQ3 Supervisory/Management or Equivalent qualification.
  • FLT Counter Balance Licence

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • 2 years minimum warehouse experience
  • 3 Years Supervisory experience or In an 'Acting Up' Role within a Portering Transport Teams
  • Good Knowledge and experience of using Computer software

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Mental Health Environment.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of using an electronic Time and attendance system
