Summerhill Services Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of the NHS) are Pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic Graduate to join our National Recognised Successful, Private Finance Initiative Management Team through a Graduate Scheme.

Across the UK Private Finance Initiative (PFI) schemes have been utilised by public bodies to raise funds for capital projects contracting with commercial organisations to build hospitals in the National Health Service, schools, and provide infrastructure to the MOD.

Main duties of the job

SSL provides specialist contract management consultancy and performance management services, to support the public and private sectors to manage these contracts, and ensure that they are providing value for money, compliant premises, and quality environments by:

  • Reviewing and monitoring the contracts, supporting performance management, and ensuring compliance across the services provided.
  • Carrying out "PFI Health Checks" which analyse the contract and explore whether the contractors who delivers services are managing them effectively, thus providing recommendations and support to enable our client to deliver best in class services which provide excellent value.
  • Preparing clients for PFI contract expiry to ensure building are handed over to client fit for purpose and all documentation is in place

The PFI and Commercial Graduate will support SSL to develop business growth opportunities, new services, and deliver consultancy services in relation to contract management of our "PFI Health Check" service and other projects as required

At SSL, we work in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT), to deliver facilities management, transport and other support services to over 50 sites across the West Midlands. Our team keeps expanding and since our establishment, in 2012, we have grown rapidly though the acquisition of new sites and services.   • oDegree in Business, Contract, Finance, Facilities or Statistics related subject and evidence of modules which cover elements of the above.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • oEvidence of working across business in a support capacity through part time employment /placements/internships whilst undertaking Degree.
  • oEvidence of working within customer facing and support roles
  • oEvidence of analysing documents and management information and making recommendations
  • oProducing written reports and making recommendation
  • oUnderstanding of finance and budget management principles
  • oPresenting information using a range of media to different audiences
  • oAn understanding of an Estates and Facilities Management and the service provision of SSL.
