Specialist Nurse - Oncology

Full Time - Permanent

We have an opportunity for aSpecialist Nurseto join their team of staff in theOncologydepartment.

This is afull timerole for37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern. No weekends or bank holidays required.

Main duties of the job

  • Required to work closely with both Medical and Surgical Oncologists
  • Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care, with reference to Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for records and record keeping.
  • Conduct yourself professionally within the standard and framework provided by the NMC Codes of professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / BSc in Nursing. Or
  • Registered Nurse Level 2 - Relevant Competencies for the role.
  • Post grad course in either SACT or Foundations in Cancer Services or SACT Passport signed off.
  • Willingness to develop or already hold:
  • Advanced communication skills desirable
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills required.
  • Understanding on workload and shift management.
  • Patient and caring approach to customer care
  • Training to CNS level if applicant is keen to progress. Pathway for this is available and will be supported.
  • Telephone triage skills desirable
  • Holistic need assessment experience
  • Disease specific qualifications desirable
