Job summary
The Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) will work as a team toprovide safe effective ambulance patient care as part of the Role 1 Medical Ltd operational team providing non-emergency patient transport journeys.
The ACA will undertake a number of different ambulance journeys as required including from peoples homes to medical facilities or between different medical facilities.
Main duties of the job
1. To deliver ambulance patient care within a scope of practice defined by your level of training in a safe and effective way.
2. Provide Basic Life Support autonomously including defibrillation, basic airway management and oxygen.
3. To complete accurate and thorough patient records in accordance with established Role 1 Medical Ltd SOPs.
4. To safely administer & record oxygen administration in accordance with Role 1 Medical Ltd policy and SOPs as required for the immediate treatment of the sick and injured.
5. To drive Role 1 Medical Ltd vehicles in accordance with the law and complete company driver related tasks as directed in Role 1 Medical Ltd policy or management direction.
6. To take responsibility for your own continuing professional development and maintain a log of your CPD activity including annual BLS updates.
7. To ensure you maintain the professional image associated with Role 1 Medical Ltd.
8. All staff are responsible for ensuring compliance with Role 1 Medicals Health & Safety requirements and regulations
9. All staff are required to positively support Role 1 Medicals Diversity and Inclusion Policy
10. All staff are responsible for carrying out appropriate communication and information sharing as required but in accordance with the data protection act and Role 1 Medical Ltds Information Governance Policy

Role 1 Medical Ltd is based in the South West of England. We are a multi-disciplinary clinician led Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated independent ambulance service rated 'Good'. We hold commissioned contracts on behalf of several different NHS providers including frontline 999 response, inter-facility transfers, urgent care as well as private transport and event work.
