Job summary
The UK government regulates the ability of employers to recruit non UK residents by issuing licenses to provide Visa Sponsorship. Unfortunately NPC does not hold a license for Visa Sponsorship and so cannot progress any applications for candidates without the right to work in the UK.
To deliver high-quality cleaning and infection-prevention services across Norfolk Primary Care (NPC) managed sites, in line with the NPC Cleaning Services SOP and NHS England National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness. The post holder is responsible for maintaining safe, compliant, and hygienic environments to support patient, staff, and visitor safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Cleaning Duties
- Carry out all cleaning tasks in accordance with the NPC Cleaning Services SOPs.
- Use the NHS-standard colour-coding system for equipment to prevent cross-infection.
- Complete daily cleaning logs accurately and ensure tasks are signed off as required.
- Report missed tasks, defects, spillages, incidents, or hazards immediately to the Cleaning Lead.
- Undertake routine and enhanced cleaning as required, including outbreak or incident-related cleaning.
- Prepare, use, dilute, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals following COSHH assessments and guidance.
- Maintain equipment in good working order, clean and store mops, cloths, buckets, and trolleys correctly.
Main duties of the job
Infection Prevention & Safety
- Apply infection-control measures including correct PPE use, hand hygiene, and uniform compliance.
- Follow waste segregation and disposal processes for domestic, clinical, offensive, and recycling streams.
- Follow the procedure for spillages of blood and body fluids, including use of chlorine products at correct concentrations.
- Participate in audits, quality assurance activities, and incident reporting.
Teamworking & Communication
- Work as part of a 7-day cleaning team ensuring adequate site coverage.
Communicate clearly with colleagues, clinical staff, visitors, and contractors as required.
- Report equipment shortages, defective PPE, or supply issues promptly.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
