Job summary
We are
seeking an experienced Senior Practice Nurse to compliment the role of the GPs
and other Health Professionals at BCHC and become integral part of our Primary
Health care team, providing a high standard of health care to our large and
diverse patient population.
It is
essential that you are already have experience in a primary care setting,
preferably as a Practice Nurse and qualifications in Long Term Conditions such
as COPD, Asthma and Diabetes are desirable. Training may be provided for the
right candidate.
The Nursing
Team is large but friendly and a mix of Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates
and HCAs. We work closely together and value teamwork, and mutual support. We
work closely alongside other HCP services within the practice, and we have
direct daily support from the GPs.
We have
coffee and lunch together as a team most days.
Training is
considered to be fundamental to our job roles at BCHC and is encouraged.
We are a GP
training Practice so there is lots of regular education including monthly
surgery gatherings for lunch and education.
We are also
a research practice with lots of interesting new studies taking place.
The surgery
provides dermatology services along with womens health services as well as a
physiotherapy service.
We have large,
diverse population and are busy, but we expect all staff to work hard to always
provide a constantly high standard of clinical care to all our patients.
Main duties of the job
As a trained
nurse, you will be expected to support all surgery staff and provide continuing
high standards of health care in a safe and appropriate manner to all patients.
You will be
expected to support all your colleagues and be involved in teaching junior
members/new members of staff when required.
You will
need good communication skills to work across all teams within the surgery.
It is
essential to be aware of clinical governance policies and able to follow local
guidance.
As a professional you
will be expected to uphold your Code of conduct at all times and practice in a
way that promotes patient well-being and safety.

Professional:
