An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional senior clinical leader to join a dynamic and high-profile team within our organisation as Clinical Director of Primary and Community Care working to the Medical Director.
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced GP with an established track record in leadership and management to join Principal Medical Limited (PML) as our Clinical Director of Primary and Community care to help to shape our expanding primary and community care services in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.
We are looking for an ambitious leader to who will encourage, support, and innovate with our growing team, looking to the future of patient care.
The combination of our locations across the 2 market towns of Banbury and Bicester, as well as Oxford (the prestigious city of dreaming spires) located on the edge of the Cotswolds provides a wonderful area to live and work, with excellent road and rail links as well as access to excellent public and private schools.

Main duties of the job
- Lead clinical services with Clinical and Managerial Leads.
- Manage clinical leads, attend governance meetings. Regular attendance at service based clinical governance meetings.
- Ensure safety, effectiveness, patient focus and that appropriate clinical governance processes are in place.
- Collaborate with Primary Care Head of Operations.
- Prior demonstrable experience of leadership roles.
- Clinically work in the GP surgeries and Urgent Care Centre in an ongoing basis.
- Set and maintain practice standards within regulations framework.
- Develop and share evidence-based practice.
- Handle complex information and foster professional growth.
- Promote health, safety, and diverse culture.

PML is a successful not-for-profit, GP-led organisation providing various NHS community and primary care clinical services to patients across Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. We have evolved as a NHS healthcare provider since 2004 and in the last few years have grown significantly, now employing around 300 staff with a turnover of circa £16m. PML holds GMS contracts, as well as being a GP Federation representing circa 50 GP practices covering approximately 650,000 patients.

- This is a key senior leadership role in PML and we are looking for a highly experienced, ambitious individual with drive and passion to lead the our clinical services alongside Clinical and Managerial Leads.
- Line Management of service based clinical leads.
- Regular attendance at service based clinical governance meetings.
- Ensure that departments and Clinical Leads prioritise the safety, effectiveness, and the patient experience of the services they deliver and that appropriate clinical governance processes are in place.
