SPECIALIST OCCUPATIONAL
THERAPIST

young people? MindSenseAbility (MSA) is offering an incredible opportunity
to join our team in the stunning New Forest, where we transform the
lives of young people (up to the age of 25) with autism, developmental trauma,
and mental health challenges.
MindSenseAbility is a cutting-edge therapeutic service which
combines therapy, education, and mental health into one seamless program,
tailored to each young person and their family. Our Occupational Therapy team
uses Ayres Sensory Integration and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy informed
approaches to meet their needs, delivering interventions across our centre,
schools, homes, and the community.
Main duties of the job
Exciting news we are expanding! Starting Autumn 2025, we'll
offer Occupational Therapy at East Street Farm School, an innovative
independent specialist school dedicated to providing exceptional care and
education for young people with autism, developmental trauma, and mental health
challenges.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist
to join our vibrant team. With at least two years experience in autism,
learning disabilities, or mental health, and HCPC registration, you'll deliver
specialist assessments and interventions, including Ayres Sensory Integration,
working with families and a multidisciplinary team to create life-changing
outcomes.
This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) post pro
rata 41 weeks (term time plus two weeks) annually.
Part time hours will be considered.
Salary
is negotiable, dependent on experience, FTE range £37,338-£52,809 (Equivalent
to NHS Bands 6-7).

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
- Registered member of HCPC
- Full driving license and access to own vehicle.
- Views and beliefs that are compatible with the aims and mission of MSA
- Enthusiasm to work with young people to encourage learning and independence
Desirable
- Professional qualification (Advanced Practitioner) in Ayres Sensory Integration Therapy that allows for assessment, interpretation, design and delivery of sensory integration therapy
Experience
Essential
- An overview/understanding of all therapy strands undertaken at MSA i.e. Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Psychology.
- Experience or a demonstrated understanding of individuals with learning difficulties and/or other physical disabilities, including neuro-diverse conditions, trauma and attachment needs
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in an education environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of prioritisation processes and procedures
- Understanding of Health and Safety in a learning environment
- Experience of multi-disciplinary Team assessment and working
Skills and Experience

- Ability to work within a framework of reflective practice and supervision (clinical)
- Able to complete delegated clinical tasks using own initiative and judgments
- Good skills in managing own time, prioritising tasks and working independently

- Recent experience of delivering programmes of treatments to people and children with complex needs, mental health, learning disabilities and autism
