We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Therapy team as a Bank Therapy Assistant.

This role offers the chance to work across our Brain Injury Services and Continuing Care Services, supporting patients with complex neurological disabilities including cognitive, sensory, and physical impairments.

This is a flexible bank role, ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in neuro-rehabilitation or develop their clinical skills within a specialist setting.

Main duties of the job

Main Objectives of the Role

  • To support the Therapy team in delivering specialist therapeutic interventions to patients
  • To work under the supervision of a registered Therapist or Nurse, carrying out delegated clinical and administrative tasks
  • To contribute to the delivery of a responsive, effective, and patient-centred service
  • To support patients with complex neuro-disabilities in achieving their rehabilitation goals
  • To maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, and teamwork
  • To contribute to continuous improvement and development within the Therapy service

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological conditions
  • Deliver delegated therapy interventions across a range of settings, including ward-based environments and hydrotherapy
  • Support patient care needs in line with care plans, including aspects of personal care where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with policies and standards
  • Support the safe use, maintenance, and cleaning of therapy equipment and clinical environments
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Therapy service

  • Knowledge of rehabilitation practices and physical management techniques

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with adults with disabilities in a healthcare, social care, or educational setting
  • Experience supporting registered healthcare professionals
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to cope in challenging situations
  • A level of physical fitness suitable for a neuro-rehabilitation environment
