We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis.
You will support the Physiotherapy team in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex neurological conditions, primarily within the Brain Injury Service. This role includes working across therapy settings, including hydrotherapy, and supporting patients with a range of physical, cognitive, and communication needs.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in neuro-rehabilitation within a specialist multidisciplinary environment.
Main duties of the job
Main Objectives of the Role
- Support the Physiotherapy team in delivering therapeutic interventions
- Assist with patient care and rehabilitation activities
- Contribute to a safe, effective, and patient-centred service
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists with patient assessment and treatment
- Deliver delegated therapy interventions (land and hydrotherapy)
- Support patient care, including aspects of personal care where required
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Support equipment management, cleaning, and infection control
- Assist with administrative tasks and service organisation
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the MDT
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with adults with disabilities (health or social care)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Physically fit for a rehabilitation environment
- Basic IT skills
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Assistant
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
- Relevant training in neurological conditions or rehabilitation
