Department: Continuing Care Services / Brain Injury Service

Salary range: Band 2 £28,939 (pro rata £17,363)

Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week (Monday & Friday 8am4pm + one day by agreement)

Contract Type: Fixed-term (1 year)

Location: Putney, Southwest London

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis.

You will support the Physiotherapy team in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex neurological conditions, primarily within the Brain Injury Service. This role includes working across therapy settings, including hydrotherapy, and supporting patients with a range of physical, cognitive, and communication needs.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in neuro-rehabilitation within a specialist multidisciplinary environment.

Main duties of the job

Main Objectives of the Role

  • Support the Physiotherapy team in delivering therapeutic interventions
  • Assist with patient care and rehabilitation activities
  • Contribute to a safe, effective, and patient-centred service
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physiotherapists with patient assessment and treatment
  • Deliver delegated therapy interventions (land and hydrotherapy)
  • Support patient care, including aspects of personal care where required
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Support equipment management, cleaning, and infection control
  • Assist with administrative tasks and service organisation
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the MDT

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with adults with disabilities (health or social care)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Physically fit for a rehabilitation environment
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Assistant
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
  • Relevant training in neurological conditions or rehabilitation
