Job summary
Join our dynamic team of Consultants providing neuro-rehabilitation services at our national centre and hospital based in London.
We are looking for a Consultant who shares our vision and ambitions of excellence in service provision and leadership in neuro-disability.
We
welcome doctors wishing to work full time or part time and operate a flexible/hybrid
working policy. If you are interested in part-time, you will need to work a minimum of 24 hours per week. Full time hours are 40 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
You will provide care for patients within the Hospital's Brain Injury Services for a minimum of three days a week.
You will work closely with Consultant colleagues working within the Brain Injury Service and with other members of the multi-professional clinical team.
You will participate in a robust handover within the permanent incumbent of this post at the start and end of this contract.
You will contribute to the development of the RHN and there are opportunities to participate in research, clinical governance and clinical service development.
The role includes participation in a 1 in 4 on call rota with enhanced payments, and supervising a clinical fellow who will provide 1st line medical on call.

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is a leading national centre of excellence. We provide rehabilitation, care and support for people with severe and complex neurological disabilities.
We offer a wide range of specialist services provided by multi-professional teams. These services include:
- Brain Injury Services including Level 1 and level 2 neuro-rehabilitation
- Services for people with prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC)
- Ventilator support for people with neuro-respiratory impairments
- Level 2 neuro-behavioural services
- Services for younger adults
- Specialist Nursing Home services
- Specialist equipment support services
The hospital has approximately 240 beds, 48 of which are dedicated to neuro-rehabilitation services.
