Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to manage NUPAS Contact Centres in
Birmingham and Manchester and provide operational management of the nurses and
midwives delivering assessments for abortion on a remote basis (via telephone /
online).
The post holder will be based in
Birmingham, with a percentage of the week worked in Manchester.
Main duties of the job
Oversee and supervise the Resource and Capacity
Coordinators, Contact Centre and Assessment and Advice Hubs to ensure
accessibility to NUPAS services.
Provide a seamless patient focused service ensuring that the
experience provided to the patient simultaneously meets CQC regulations & NUPAS
own excellent high standards.
Develop systems, processes, and procedures to meet kpi's ensuring NUPAS are meeting all
obligations and objectives for assessment for abortion.
Represent NUPAS at external contract review meetings.
Annually appraise Resource and Capacity Coordinators and
have development needs identified.
Develop an environment where all staff are constantly
seeking to make service improvement.
Work with IT Manager and Resource and Capacity Coordinators
to ensure appropriate and accessible IT and telecoms systems are in place to
actively support the Contact Centre and Assessment and Advice Hubs.
Act as a Safeguarding Lead for Contact Centre and Assessment
and Advice Team
Manage Complaints and Incidents as appropriate.
Maintain local risk registers and ensure that both
Birmingham and Manchester hubs have robust arrangements in place to identify
and manage risk.
Ensure that the Contact Centre and Assessment and Advice
Hubs manage expenditure within the budget allocated and ensure that all
services operate in an efficient manner at all times.
Ensure all services comply with the organisations policies
and procedures.

providing surgical and medical abortions to thousands of women each year for
over 50 years. We are commissioned to provide NHS abortion services (including
STI testing, post-abortion contraception, and the offer of counselling) on
behalf of Integrated Care Boards (NHS) and on a self-funding basis.

- Experience Management of multi-disciplinary teams on a regional basis Experience of managing supervisors and managers
- Experience of working to financial budgets.
- Knowledge of the Abortion Act.
Qualifications

- Min of 4 GCSEs or equivalent Degree level management qualification or significant relevant experience in the field and willingness to work towards degree level qualification Full working knowledge in relation to Microsoft Office.
