About the Role

Base location will be The Glade SARC, Bransford, Worcestershire but will need to travel for cases to The Glade SARC, Telford, Shropshire.

Additional Locations: West Midlands region

Salary: £43,005.07 per annum, Pro Rata, based on 40 hours per week, (£20.62 per hour). Full Time Post (40 Hours per week) but Part Time Positions will be considered.

Shift pattern at base location 40 hours (8 - hour shifts) 24/7 cover 365 days per year.

The service runs 24/7 365 days per year.

The core office hours will be worked from site. The out of hours will be worked on call from home.

Shift patterns will be 9am - 5pm, 5pm - 1am, and 1am - 9am.

Ideally, we need staff located in between the 2 sites - ie Kidderminster area, due to the travel to both locations.

The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. We're looking for caring and compassionate RN's, Midwifes, RMN's or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiner to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits
  • Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
  • Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
  • 1st point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
  • Manage and promote the self- referral pathway.
  • Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Producing individual management plans.
  • Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
  • Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures.
