Main duties of the job
Duties include:
- Forensic sampling, including bloods for road traffic offences
- Conducting health assessments and providing care to detainees and staff
- Delivering substance misuse therapies and supporting withdrawal management
- Identifying vulnerabilities and referring individuals to appropriate services
- Promoting good personal healthcare and wellbeing among detainees
- Signposting and supporting individuals to access services that help reduce reoffending
- Working closely with Liaison and Diversion teams to identify and support those with mental health needs
- Managing acute medical conditions and responding to emergencies
- Maintaining accurate and detailed clinical records to a high evidential standard
- Collaborating with police colleagues and other external agencies

This is a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses (RGN) and qualified Paramedics with at least three years' post registration experience to step into a meaningful and exciting new area of healthcare.
As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you'll work in police custody suites providing high quality care to detainees. This includes everything from managing drug and alcohol withdrawal to responding to acute medical episodes and mental health crises.
Youll also be trained to carry out forensic procedures and collect samples to assist police with investigations.
No previous forensic experience?Thats absolutely fine. Full training and support will be provided to help you become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.
This is a bank position, offering flexibility and the ability to work shifts that fit around your life.
