Job summary
The NHS Benchmarking Network provides data collection, analysis and reporting services to the NHS. Each year the Network runs over thirty projects, collecting over two million data items directly from the NHS and healthcare sector.
Main duties of the job
Role Responsibilities
Help to improve and develop existing Excel/VBA tools.
Design and develop new tools and systems in Excel/VBA to meet the needs of project team.
Work closely with product, analyst and developer teams in support of projects.
Provide Excel-based data analysis support to project teams.
Support coding standards and best practices

Excel is used in a variety of ways within the company:
Project team staff use it to analyse data.A large volume of data is collected via Excel data collection templates (over 5,000 completed templates) were processed in 2023.Our PDF reporting systems are built as an Excel/PowerPoint hybrid system using VBA code and produce over 15,000 unique pages of analysis per year.A range of other Excel/VBA tools to automate processes and provide a user-friendly interface for project staff.
Benefits
Base salary of £35,000-£40,000, depending on experience.Remote working is possible.Annual bonus scheme (subject to personal and business performance).25 days holiday increasing to 28 after 18 months service, plus statutory bank holidays.Flexible 8-hour shift around 6 core working hours.Contributory pension.
The role is primarily based at the BMC office in Manchester, with the possibility to work from home. Occasional travel to attend events may be required.
