Job summary
Alliance Psychological Services is an independent provider of counselling and psychological therapy services based in the Tees Valley area and working across the North-East region. We are working in partnership with Teesside Mind to deliver the IMPACT on Teesside service.
We are currently recruiting multiple High Intensity CBT (HICBT) training posts to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT course. Successful applicants will either attend Newcastle University starting September 2025 or Teesside University from 2nd week in January 2026. Successful applicants will be expected to start the role prior to training commencing(ideally from August 2025 for September course) to allow time to ensure a comprehensive welcome and induction into the service. They will attend University will be allocated study leave on a regular basis through term time and carry an appropriate clinical caseload. Salaries will start at £31000 based on current qualifications and experience increasing to £38000 once qualified.

If you are a PWP without a core profession you must have PWP registration with BABCP and have a minimum of 2 years post qualification PWP experience working as a PWP (please note this is 2 years post board confirmation of qualifications).
If you are a counsellor you must have a minimum 2 years post qualification experience and be Accredited or eligible for Accreditation prior to beginning the course without accreditation in place you would need to complete the KSA route.

The Postholder will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression as part of of Impacts Service across the Tees area. The post-holder will work within the service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a university-based programme of training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT.
The post-holder will work as part of the Impact Clinical team whilst attending the training programme. They will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression programme as part of Impacts Team serving GP Practices across the NHS Tees area.
This position requires flexible hours between 8am until 8pm weekdays with the expectation of at least one evening clinic until 8pm as part of the agreed workplan. The service offers a hybrid style of therapy delivery with a mix of face to face and remote working in line with service needs
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To work as a member of the Impact Service Team
To create and maintain effective working relationships within the Impact Team and elsewhere.
To offer advice and support to other members of the wider Primary Care Team, including GPs and other Health Professionals, on mental health issues, and in relation to appropriate referral pathways for patients with mental health needs.
To liaise effectively with Secondary Care and voluntary sector organisations and services
To attend meetings and provide reports as required.
To assist in the development and promotion of the service
To provide a range of therapeutic interventions
To provide assessment, including risk assessment, of clients referred for psychological therapy within the Primary Care setting.
To select and deliver a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the client.
To work within an appropriate time framework
To make appropriate onward referrals following assessment for clients requiring other services, including statutory and voluntary agencies
To maintain clients confidentiality within agreed guidelines
To undertake the required training programme
To attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post. NB Satisfactory completion of the training programme is a condition of continued employment.
