Are you passionate about delivering positive messages about mental health and well-being?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established team within IMPACT on Teesside to support people through learning. The main responsibilities of this role are to deliver our interactive and informative sessions alongside volunteers with lived experience.

You will work creatively developing new course material to enhance the offer of support for local people.

Impact on Teesside is a primary care therapy and support service led by Alliance Psychological Services working in partnership with Teesside Mind.

This position is subject to a 6 month probationary period, satisfactory references, Minds policies on Safeguarding of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults and an enhanced DBS check and subsequent re-checks.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties:

  1. To provide tuition for a range of mental health / well-being courses and learning opportunities within the service, based on learners interests and needs
  2. To follow and develop lesson plans and use a diverse range of learning material, tools and methods to educate learners about good mental health and general wellbeing
  3. To proactively work with learners so they can access and benefit from appropriate services in a timely manner
  4. To respond to and manage risk within the service with support from senior staff.
  5. To work collaboratively and supervise peer support/co-facilitators in the service.
  6. To provide support and guidance to peer support/co-facilitators during delivery and planning of group work
  7. To work as part of the team to develop the content of existing and new courses
  8. To encourage the involvement of individuals with lived experience in the planning, development and delivery of the service
  9. To attend meetings and events and develop networks as appropriate
  10. To ensure that project targets are met
  11. To keep up to date service user records in line with policies and procedures
  12. To contribute to service developments/quality improvements

About us

The Impact on Teesside service provides primary care psychological wellbeing and therapy services. It offers a broad range of interventions tailored to meet individual needs.

The Recovery College sits within the Foundation and Recovery element of Impact on Teesside offering short courses aimed at improving the well-being of clients through a learning model. Offering individuals the opportunity to explore ideas with like-minded people either face to face in a community venue or via Microsoft Teams.

The post holder will be able to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment across Teesside with a clear focus on mental health recovery.
