Job summary
We are recruiting a
motivated and enthusiastic Nurse to the part time (4 days) role of Specialist Bariatric
Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary specialist team
based on site in our Chester premises. We are embracing hybrid
working and can accommodate some remote working on a rostered basis.
Some experience in Bariatric surgical care and/or medical weight management services is ideal, but
we can provide supervised training (including extended clinical roles) for the
individual with a strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal and team skills.
Main duties of the job

To provide a Nurse Specialist service as part of the multi-disciplinary Bariatric Service via
- Assessment and support to a range of patients (both NHS & Private) at various points in their pre, peri and post operative journey with their weight loss and health (predominantly telephone calls, with some F2F contact including post op ward visits),
- Keeping up to date with data entry for national records and databases,
- Participating in data audits and research when necessary in line with Clinical Governance,
- Participating in the clinical on call rota (Rostered weekend cover),
- Providing advice and support to ward staff and learners in all aspects of the delivery of high-quality bariatric care,
- Assisting in the development and implementation of guidelines and pathways. Supporting the delivery of care, in line with national recommendations.

employees work with carefully selected surgeons to deliver the highest
standards of treatment and post-operative aftercare.
Phoenix Health provide NHS bariatric outpatient clinics and
surgery for patients from Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside ICBs using both
private and NHS facilities in Manchester region. We also provide
private surgery at these sites and other locations in the South
East. Our head office is located within modern offices close
to the M56 just outside Chester.
The Phoenix Health Group also includes the Semapen business as
part of its suite of weight management services, delivering an online GLP-1
programme. Whilst this is not compulsory experience for the Specialist Bariatric
Nurse, it may suit a candidate with some interest in this area as part of the role.
