Job Title: Lead Therapy Radiographer Multi Platform Division: Oncology Location: Cromwell Hospital, Kensington, London Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Role Summary

As the Lead Therapy Radiographer, you will be responsible for leading and developing the radiotherapy service to ensure that all operational objectives and clinical standards are consistently achieved. Youll play a vital role in delivering exceptional treatment and patient care across multiple treatment platforms at our state-of-the-art cancer centre.

Working as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team, you will rotate across treatment modalities to support the overall radiotherapy service and contribute to a high-performing, patient-focused environment. You will lead by example, demonstrate effective people management, and drive continuous service improvement through innovation and collaboration.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Lead the radiotherapy service to meet operational objectives and uphold GenesisCares reputation for outstanding outcomes and patient care.

• Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the therapy radiography team, supporting all patients receiving external beam radiotherapy.

• Promote a safe, efficient and compassionate working culture aligned with GenesisCares values.

Reporting Lines

• Reports to: Clinical Service Lead

• Direct reports: Senior Therapy Radiographer, Therapy Radiographer (Subject to change based on service needs)

Core Duties

• Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, fostering a positive, inclusive environment.

• Uphold all professional responsibilities as an HCPC-registered radiographer.

• Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and maintain competency across all platforms.

• Promote safe, effective working practices, including MR safety and radiation protection.

• Deliver a high standard of patient experience throughout the treatment journey.

• Ensure accurate documentation of treatments and compliance with quality assurance processes.

• Lead on incident, complaint, and compliment management, embedding learning and improvement.

• Maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders both internal and external.

• Represent GenesisCare in external networks and clinical forums.

• Actively participate in CPD and ensure professional standards are maintained across the team.

• Support out-of-hours coordination for crisis or breakdown resolution with minimal service disruption.

Experience and Skills Required

• Significant post-qualification experience in radiotherapy

• Skilled across all radiotherapy disciplines: QA, pre-treatment, treatment delivery

• Proven people management and leadership experience

• Holistic, empathetic approach to patient care

• Strong governance and complaint-resolution experience

• Wide-ranging clinical competencies

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

• Able to train, mentor and motivate others

• Flexible, proactive and team-focused

• Willingness to undertake cannulation training

• Desirable: experience with advanced and evolving radiation therapy techniques

Qualifications and Registration

• DCR (DR) or BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography

• HCPC registration (required)

• MSc or working towards is desirable

• Evidence of ongoing CPD

• Willing to work unsocial hours if needed

• Willing to travel nationally or internationally for training or professional events

Experience

Essential

• Significant post-qualification experience in radiotherapy practice
• Experience across all aspects of radiotherapy, including quality assurance, pre-treatment and treatment delivery
• Proven experience in leading or supervising clinical staff
• Evidence of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience in managing or resolving complaints effectively
• Demonstrated involvement in service improvement or innovation

Desirable

• Experience working with evolving radiotherapy techniques and technologies
• Experience with clinical trials or research initiatives
• Previous experience working in a private healthcare or independent sector setting

Qualifications

Essential

• DCR (DR) or BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)

Desirable

• MSc or working towards a Masters degree in a relevant subject
• Evidence of management or leadership training
