Job summary

CBC Health Federation are looking for a Spirometry Technician, to work as part of a team delivering the spirometry and FeNO service across Gateshead GP practices. We are a not-for-profit company with a wide and diverse portfolio of services that we deliver as an NHS employer.

The post holder will contribute to the continually improving clinical effectiveness of the service and work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues within the team.

The post holder will ensure patients receive optimal care and adhere to CBCs policies and standard operating procedures where relevant.

This post is a full-time position but applicants looking for a part time position may be considered.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direct supervision of the nurse practitioner, and strictly in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist in the delivery of respiratory assessments in the prescribed programmes of patient care.

This role will be based in GP Practices across Gateshead

The post holder will work independently to perform all tests in accordance with National Guidelines in order to deliver a full range of respiratory function tests.

To perform a range of routine tasks including patient preparation, equipment preparation, maintenance, and the use of automated recording equipment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 4 GCSEs including English and Maths

Desirable

  • Training certificates to the required level in specific health care skills e.g., ARTP Certificate.
  • NVQ 3 in health care.

Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Evidence of an ability to build successful working relationships with a range of professionals and administrative staff
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with supervision and use initiative regarding tasks to see through to completion
