Job summary
CBC Health Federation is looking to recruit Specialist
Medicines Optimisation Pharmacists to work within Pharmicus. We have an
exciting opportunity for proactive pharmacists to join our supportive team to
improve the quality of general practice across Gateshead, Newcastle & South
Tyneside by supporting GPs and other healthcare professionals, maximising
patient safety and optimising medications. The successful candidate(s) will be
supported by other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the whole
Pharmicus team.

- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified Pharmacist
- Specialist knowledge acquired through clinical diploma or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of therapeutics, especially medicines used in primary care
- Has awareness of the common acute and long-term conditions that are likely to be seen in general practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IT Literate
- Evidence of an ability to build successful working relationships with a range of professionals and administrative staff
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make judgements
- Time management
- Professional and discreet
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing demands
- Experience of training and supporting less experienced staff
- High degree of concentration with potential for frequent interruption
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role
Desirable
- Experience of working in primary care
