Job summary

CBC Health Federation are looking to recruit a Band 3 Health Care Assistant (HCA) to support Urgent Primary Care (UPC) services in Gateshead. This is a temporary 12-month fixed term contract, working 18 hours per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing, and approachable person, who is skilled and qualified in a range of HCA duties

It is essential that you have excellent inter-personal and communication skills and can demonstrate experience working unsupervised and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible as key requirements of this role involve some evening and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will support the Urgent Primary Care (UPC) Service which operates 7 days a week, 24/7.

The post holder will be responsible for directly supporting the UPC team with a range of delegated duties including hands on delivery of clinical procedures alongside administrative duties and co-ordination of services.

The service operates from several locations, including Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Bede Centre and Blaydon Primary Care Centre.

  • Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles
  • Ability to communicate accurately verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.

  • Ability to compose accurate records

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 in health or social care or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • ECDL qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience (or working towards
  • Phlebotomy and Venepuncture adult (Paediatric desirable)
