To act as patient advocate, ensuring patient care is safe and effective;
To set the direction of UK clinical and non-clinical quality and risk activity within the overall strategy and priorities of Alliance Medical;
To define the UK clinical and non-clinical governance objectives and framework and agree plans to achieve them;
To oversee the delivery of planned results by monitoring performance against objectives and ensuring appropriate action is taken where necessary;
To ensure effective quality governance through the efficient use of resources, financial control and financial planning
To ensure high standards of corporate governance and personal behaviour are maintained;
To ensure high standards of clinical and non-clinical governance and patient care are maintained;

Main duties of the job
being the subject matter leader on governance, quality and risk frameworks for existing and new services.
working closely with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver against agreed clinical and non-clinical governance;
supporting the achievement of annual business performance targets, evidenced by the achievement of budgeted performance;
defining and communicating an agreed governance strategy within the context of the Alliance Medical strategy;
leading a team of quality and risk colleagues to deliver their annual objectives;
developing strong relationships with industry bodies including the Department of Health and regulators as appropriate;
developing and manage a network of senior health sector relationships in support of quality and governance objectives;
drive the quality and governance strategy to ensure the provision of market leading, innovative solutions, including participation in development of future clinical services;
chair the Clinical Governance Committee
act as Secretariat for the Integrated Governance and Risk Board
act as lead for the Mental Capacity Act
act as nominated Individual; Caldicott Guardian and Medicines Safety Officer

Required Experience/Skill set
- Significant experience in a senior clinical role within the health sector
- Experience of developing and introducing new clinical governance initiatives in partnership with operational management colleagues;
- Deep understanding of the UK health sector including the CQC regulatory framework and challenges;
- An established network of relationships across the UK health sector, including senior clinical governance colleagues;
- Leadership role in developing clinical governance capability throughout a complex organisation;
- Evidence of success in working with business leaders to deliver strategies for innovative change and safe clinical practice;
- Experience of engaging with senior decision makers on complex proposals;
- Experience of developing effective and mutually supportive relationships with key partners;
- Track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex, long-term clinical governance challenges;
- Experience of leading and developing teams to deliver stretching objectives;
- Experience of delivering complex projects through matrix management.
