Job summary
Iris Care group are looking for a part time physiotherapist who has experience working in learning disabilities and mental health.
The post involves delivering assessments and adapting treatment plans to meet the needs of our service users in hospital and students within our College.
At Iris Care Group we provide the full pathway of services for people with learning disabilities, Autism, mental health issues and personality disorder, along with neurodegenerative conditions and Acquired Brain Injury. We provide treatment and care for complex mental health conditions.
Our domiciliary care, supported living, residential and nursing services allow people to live independent, and meaningful lives in the community, whilst our specialist hospitals provide, assessment, care and treatment. Our Special Educational Needs college provides residential and day placements to young people and adults.
Our multi-disciplinary teams are able to operate across all service areas to provide dedicated therapeutic care as required.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist assessment and treatment to clients.
- To act as a specialist resource on the physiotherapy management of individuals taking the lead with multi disciplinary team to provide advice on the physiotherapy care of the individual.
- To provide a written report for CPAs formal reviews and attend M.D.T team meetings if available.
- Manage a referral-based caseload with clear goals that is reported in a timely manner.

- To be responsible for own practice and accountable for all aspects of physiotherapy treatment and care delivered to the service user.
- To deliver a physiotherapy service in line with clinical care pathways and individual treatment plans.
- To formulate individual management and treatment plans utilising clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment skills.
- To review, monitor and evaluate clinical interventions and alter as appropriate.
- To have clinical responsibility for a designated case load of clients and to organise this effectively with regard to clinical priorities.
- To demonstrate specialised skills in a range of therapeutic interventions.
- To communicate effectively with clients and carers to maximize an individuals functional potential. Communication skills of explanation, motivation, negotiation and sensitivity will be used in a variety of situations.
- To provide advice, teaching and education to clients, carers and other professionals to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and to ensure a consistent approach to care.
- Carry out safe therapeutic and care moving and handling manoeuvres with clients. To advise on the moving and handling of individual clients in relation to physiotherapy interventions.
