Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for Lead Nurse at our Integrated Urgent Primary Care (IUPC) Service. The post holder will provide expert and innovative leadership to IUPC Team. The post holder will support the nursing team in growing and developing the service within the wider department; living and leading by the Care Group values and culture to nurture and enable a high performing team. The post holder will have strong and dynamic leadership skills to lead the team in the development of an IUPC Service. The IUPC comprises of the Urgent Treatment Centre, GP Out of Hours, and NHS111 CAS. Through the development of strong and flexible relationships with ED, you will ensure safe, high-quality and seamless care across the local health system. Contributing to and leading the implementation of service developments will a key part of the role.
The Lead nurse will be expected to work on site at least 4 days in UTC and should be available for meetings with partners/stakeholders. This job is full time 37.5 hours.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
To lead the nursing team (working for GPCG) undertaking face to face assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who are streamed into the IUPC, co-located with the ED Department at the Royal London Hospital, in accordance with the relevant protocols.
Provide supervision/development of junior members of the multidisciplinary team.
To utilise clinical decision-making skills, in line with the agreed IUPC criteria, taking a continuous improvement approach to continually refining the criteria.
To work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Operations to achieve the Key Performance Indicators and support the implementation of improvement plans.
Actively implement effective systems and processes for infection prevention and control utilising relevant audits within their clinical area.
Provide strong leadership to the team acting as a professional role model; ensuring evidence-based practice is delivered, and ensuring patient safety and quality of care is enhanced.
