Job responsibilities

The main purpose of the role:

Provide Clinical Systems training for clinical staff across the 0-19 service

Lead and contribute to the training, monitoring, and auditing of clinical records, supporting compliance with Trust policies and national guidance

Be the main point of contact for clinical queries relating to systems, templates, and general practice

Provide onsite and virtual training sessions

Drive standardised methods and best clinical practice for systems use

Contribute to the development of digital initiatives and align to strategic innovation.

Lead on change Management to facilitate Performance Improvement and Service Delivery

Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and evaluations related to Templates and Emis Diaries.

To spread and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence across the organisation.

Develop/ redesign pathways to deliver clinical and digital operational transformation that are fit for purpose, operationally sound and brought together through collaborative working.

To demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness in the delivery of operational project support, ensuring that activity is fully aligned to the direction of the organisation.

Ensure key milestones are achieved, risks/ issues are flagged timely and that the required outcomes are met. Support implementation of proposed service changes specifically in relation to clinical digital pathways, operational, workforce, contractual aspects of proposed changes.

Analytical and judgemental skills

Analytical skills are required to interpret, analyse and present complex information.

Complex problem solving across multiple projects and services is necessary to ensure project timescales and/or customer expectations are maintained.

Using expertise, make judgements on complex clinical issues where there may be conflicting opinions.

Planning and organisational skills

To act as a specialist member in a large programme constituted of many projects, of high technical and business change complexity contributing to the delivery of the Organisations informatics strategy.

Advise the team in the delivery of project plans, allocation of tasks, and identification of risks, issues and dependencies, promoting best practice and robust analysis of current options, ultimately steering decisions in the best interest of the project.

Advise on strategies to develop comprehensive and cohesive plans for transition, which is consistent with the overall project timetable, meets the strategic direction, and minimises

Demonstrate effective stakeholder management across different departments, organisations and at all levels, internally and externally.

Policy and service development

Asist with the auditing of records ensuring standards is high and in line with the NMC standards and local guidelines

Responsible for proposing and drafting changes to policies, guidelines and training materials. Working with policy area owners to ensure the Trust has a competent policy environment.

Develop communication and training programmes to support the use and development of Digital clinical solutions working closely with project and support teams.

Proposes changes to services and service delivery across the 0-19 service and if required the organisation, making recommendations for improvement and compliance.

The post holder will need to maintain a good knowledge of emerging policies from government departments that could impact on the development or use of Clinical Informatics systems, including emerging confidentiality and privacy policy, clinical and informatics related policy decisions and maintain a good knowledge of the commissioning and contracting agenda including national data flows.

To collect and analyse data and produce statistics relating to Children Services, supporting clinical audit and service improvement.
