Main duties of the job

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of learning programmes, including the Apprenticeship Programme, and will ensure all training initiatives are effectively planned, promoted, delivered, and evaluated.

The postholder will oversee the Learning Management System to ensure accessible, engaging, and up-to-date content, while exploring and embedding innovative approaches to education and professional development.

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the role will play a vital part in fostering a positive learning culture, supporting staff development, and driving forward our strategic education offer.

Job description

Job responsibilities

1. Programme Coordination and Support:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of internal development programmes including training sessions, workshops, and professional development events, as directed and guided by the Head of Service. This includes responsibilities such as selecting venues, setting dates, and managing all associated logistics.
  • Support the implementation of the organisations Learning & Development strategy through timely and responsive programme planning.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align programme dates with workforce needs and team availability.
  • Minute taking in multiple stakeholder meetings

2. Learning Management System (LMS):

  • Work in collaboration with the Workforce Systems Officer to manage and maintain the Learning Management System, ensuring that all content is accurate, accessible, and regularly updated.
  • Upload learning resources, manage user access, and track engagement with learning modules.

3. Budget Management:

  • Support budget planning for learning initiatives and ensure efficient use of development funds.
  • Collect, analyse, and report on training and development data to inform budget decisions, track spending, and evaluate return on investment.

4. Communication and Promotion:

  • Work closely with the Communications Team to promote learning programmes through internal platforms, digital newsletters, and events calendars.
  • Liaise with participants, instructors, and vendors to communicate event details and respond to inquiries.

5. Evaluation and Impact Measurement:

  • Gather and analyse feedback to assess the impact of training and development programmes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support continuous enhancement of the learning offer.

6. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external trainers, service leads, and partner organisations to co-design and deliver impactful learning opportunities, as directed by and in support of the Head of Service.

7. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure all learning activities comply with organisational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, feedback, and impact for auditing and reporting purposes.
