Job summary
The GP Care Group is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Perinatal Mental Health Community Nursery Nurse within the Waltham Forest Family Hubs Parent and Baby Emotional Wellbeing Service. In partnership with the Family Hubs and the local authority, we are providing a vital service for parents and babies, addressing mild to moderate perinatal and relationship difficulties.
The service has been re-commissioned for a fixed term until March 2026. It presents a unique opportunity for an individual interested in perinatal mental health to gain experience in this specialist role - whether through a secondment option from their current role or by stepping into a brand-new position.

Main duties of the job
- Provides assessment and care, undertaking delegated duties and activities with limited or indirect supervision.
- Promotes engagement with community resources, including Family Hubs, by offering tailored support with accessing community services.
- Works directly with clients to deliver specific interventions to promote attuned parent/infant relationships.
- Provides assessment of child health and development using ASQ tools in combination with direct observation and professional judgement.
- Works directly with clients offering tailored advice and support for a range of child development needs.
- To assist with delivery of therapeutic groups under the guidance of the Specialist Perinatal MN Psychotherapist.
