Job summary

The 0-19 Service provides a public health service to children, young people, and their families with a focus on early intervention and prevention, as well as promoting physical and social wellbeing. We work with local communities, the whole family, and individual children in different settings e.g. homes, children's centres, schools and GP surgeries.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a key role in the coordination of the administrative/Emis procedures and provide support to the Locality Manager and team, ensuring the Locality is running in an efficient and cost-effective manner. It is essential that a strict code of confidentiality is adhered to.

Tower Hamlets GP Care Group (the Care Group) was incorporated as a community interest company limited by shares in September 2014. Every general practice in Tower Hamlets owns one share of £1. The Care Group was formed to manage borough level contracts on behalf of the practices, deliver primary care led services and support general practices, and to be the provider voice of primary care in the wider health and social care system.

The Care Group is also a member of Tower Hamlets Together, a place-based integrated partnership, which includes Bart's Health, East London NHS Foundation Trust, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the Council for Voluntary Services.

Knowledge

  • Using Microsoft Office to a good standard, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use electronic client case recording systems eg EMIS/ RIO/ System 1/ Cerner.

Other requirements

  • Able to travel to other sites in the Borough.
  • Flexible and comfortable with change.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in administrative role in a complex environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in health or health related environment.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • To organise and prioritise own workload to achieve deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Work positively in a team to achieve deadlines.
  • Confidence to work using own initiative and to consult as needed.
  • Accuracy in work with good attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality appropriately and understand the issues involved.
