Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Communications and
Engagement to provide
specialist management and writing skills to the Care Groups Communications and
Engagement function. This post plays a fundamental role to the effectiveness of
the Communications and Engagement function, managing both internal, external,
stakeholder and corporate communications.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be the chief copywriter within the
Communications and Engagement team. They will ensure that the requirements and
voice of our different audiences and stakeholders is reflected in our various
communications channels.
Some other responsibilities involve creating and developing high
quality, long term strategic communications plans and providing overall
editorial responsibility for communications outputs, ensuring proper content,
tone, brevity and consistency.
They will be responsible for delivering the teams internal and
external communications and engagement channels, including, but not limited to,
all primary care and workforce bulletins, and ensuring regular consistent
generation of good news stories and content about the Care Group for our public
facing communications channels, such as our resident newsletters, website news
pages, various social media channels.

The Care Group was formed to manage borough level contracts on behalf of the practices, deliver primary care led services and support general practices, and to be the provider voice of primary care in the wider health and social care system.

Internal communications
- Leading the teams operational
communications function, keeping the workforce, across our two boroughs,
abreast of important information relating to the day-to-day running of the Care
Group.
- Formulate high quality, long term
strategic communications plans and provide overall editorial responsibility for
communications ensuring proper content, tone, brevity and consistency.
- Responsible for delivering the teams
internal communications and engagement channels, including, but not limited to,
all primary care and workforce bulletins, and all staff briefings.
- Manage the teams support of Care
Group-wide internal strategic communications activities and campaigns, such as
Human Resources workforce wellbeing initiatives and the organisations efforts
toward Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
External communications
- Responsible for ensuring the regularly
consistent generation of good news stories and content about the Care Group for
our public facing communications channels, such as our resident newsletters,
website news pages, various social media channels.
- Create marketing materials and other
products to promote and celebrate the work of the organisation.
Engagement
- Develop engagement plans to support
Comms projects, services and initiatives. Support with Care Group-wide events
and support as required.
Other duties and responsibilities
Copy writing.
- Be the chief copywriter within the
Communications team. Ensure that the distinctive voice of our different
audiences and stakeholders is reflected in our various communications channels.
Media and campaigns
- Liaise with colleagues to produce media
statements in response to specific issues, set up interviews with and brief
appropriate staff and oversee filming on site.
- Identify and establish good working
relations with local press contacts to enhance the Care Groups reputation,
ensuring media enquiries are managed promptly and professionally, developing
stories and promoting case studies to support this.
- Use analysis tools to evaluate the
effectiveness of media campaigns, creating reports for our Executive team.
