We have an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Director of Governance and Lead Nurse at Tower Hamlets GP Care Group.
The Associate Director of Clinical
Governance and Lead Nurse will be a member of the GP Care Group (GPCG) Senior Management Team.
The role holder will take corporate responsibility for quality assurance of
service delivery. This will ensure that
GPCG has robust governance arrangements to meet legal requirements e.g. CQC
standards and any other service contractual and regulatory requirements.
The Corporate Governance team works as part of the Care Group Corporate services, providing high quality support to our front-line service staff.

Main duties of the job
The Associate Director will be responsible for professional clinical leadership across GPCG. They will lead the development and implementation of effective strategies and systems to improve peoples safety and experience across all GPCG operations and ensure strategic, professional advice is available to the Board and act as Registered Manager for CQC.
Working with the Clinical and Managerial Leads they will be responsible for continuously improving standards of professional practice.
You will have the opportunity to contribute and shape the Care Groups strategy, working collaboratively with both the Senior Management and Executive Team

- Work with executive directors to develop and maintain effective working arrangements within the Integrated Care System
- Responsible for ensuring robust systems and processes are in place within their respective areas and across GPCG to ensure that integrated governance processes are effectively implemented.
Professional leadership
- To ensure appropriate and safe clinical performance in all areas of patient care
- In conjunction with and under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, develop and implement quality strategies within the organisation, ensuring coherence with national & local strategies.
- To foster a culture within clinical services that values continuing professional development and strives for excellence in the delivery of patient care within GPCG.
- Advise the Executive Team, and managers on professional clinical issues, including the changing opportunities for professional roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure the maintenance of professional standards of care within the Codes of Professional Practice.
- Work with the Chief People Officer to develop and implement an organisation-wide long-term Education, Development and Training Strategy.
- Support the development and implementation of the Organisations Business Plan and Organisational Development Programme to improve the efficiency of working practices, systems and processes and enable improved clinical engagement in decision-making.
- Establish and develop a service review framework that supports the workforce to evaluate services with regard to quality, best practice, and improving outcomes.

- Manage the team in Complaints, Litigation, Incidents, and Serious Untoward Incidents
- Manage health and safety policy, supporting GPCGs response to safety notices and bulletins
- Lead the development of a Quality Account for the organisation, which reflects NHS changing policy and maximises the opportunities of the community services transformation agenda.
- Develop and promote an open and fair culture to ensure that incident reporting is encouraged and lessons are learnt, focusing on corrective action and closing the loop.
- Ensure GPCG registration requirements with the CQC are fulfilled and maintained, ensuring close collaboration with Service Leads, and that monitoring arrangements are in place.
- Ensure GPCG meets and maintains the requirements of the insurers, ensuring close collaboration with Service Leads and that monitoring arrangements are in place.
