Job summary

Derby Urgent Treatment Centre is looking for dedicated Clinical Practitioners to join our thriving and dynamic team and provide treatment for minor injuries and illnesses that are urgent.

Main duties of the job

The ongoing expansion within Derby Urgent Treatment Centre has led to an increase in the demand for permanent Clinical Practitioners. Therefore, the successful candidate can be an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Clinical Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist. Ideally, we are looking for an individual who is registered as an independent non - medical prescriber.

Job responsibilities

Using their expert clinical knowledge and skills, the post holder is expected to provide excellent care to patients, delivering safe, effective and patient focused care whilst having clinical autonomy. The main responsibility of the post holder is to provide clinical assessment, treatment and/or referral or giving advice as appropriate to both adults and children presenting with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions.

What were looking for

a) As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner:

  • Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Substantial autonomous practice experience supported by a degree/masters level study in advanced practice or working towards
  • Broad experience of using advanced clinical examination skills within practice in the assessment/management of both adults and/or children
  • Registered as an independent non - medical prescriber

b) As a Clinical Practitioner/Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP):

  • Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Autonomous practice experience supported with a Level 6/7 Minor Illness or Injury qualification
  • Experience within an A&E/Urgent or Primary care setting
  • Registered as an independent non - medical prescriber. or a willingness to undertake

Derby Urgent Treatment Centre is a busy city urgent treatment service, an advanced/nurse practitioner led service withcirca 40,000 new attendances per year.Ethnically there is a diverse population.We offer walk in, digital, and NHS111 booked appointments. We operate from Monday to Sunday, 8 am till 8 pm.

Treating undifferentiated and undiagnosed minor illness and injury presentations, in an excellent central Derby location, our modern and purpose built centre is a stones throw from London Road Community Hospitals canteen facilities and just a few minutes drive from Intu shopping centre.There is great bus access, free parking nearby and the train station is just a 5 minute walk away.
