OneMedical Grouphas grown in Milton Keynes. Our first Primary Care Network (PCN), known as OneMK, was launched on 1 September 2023, bringing together our three services across Milton Keynes: Whitehouse, Neath Hill and Brooklands.
We are therefore actively recruiting a highly motivated and enthusiastic Travel Nurse to join our teams of professionals in Milton Keynes. The Travel Nurse will play an important role in the future of the service and will be part of a wider team, who can be agile, innovative, and future focused.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of running and managing travel clinics providing both NHS and private travel vaccines. They will be providing an individualised risk assessment of travellers offering up-to-date evidence-based advice and appropriate vaccinations.
The post-holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent nursing care and to maximise Practice income such as QOF and enhanced service contracts.

The Travel Nurse will be responsible for (the list is not exhaustive):
- Risk assessment of the overseas traveller based on an up-to-date knowledge and geographical distribution of health risks and diseases
- Understanding of the principles of consent
- Understanding the principles of vaccine storage and the importance of the cold chain
- Administration of vaccination under patient group directions (PGDs) and patient specific directions (PSDs) to patients of all ages
- Provision of general health advise on non-vaccine preventable diseases and risks
- An awareness of complex problems and the need to seek advice from other resources and/or the medical adviser
