Job summary

As a Part-time Receptionist at The Spinney, a service for medium and low secure patients, you will play a pivotal role in setting the tone for every interaction. Your warm and friendly personality will shine through as you greet and assist staff, visitors, and service users. You will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the reception area, managing the office diary, ensuring confidentiality and security, and handling various administrative tasks.

Main duties of the job

In this exciting role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, coordinating the office diary, efficiently handling telephone calls, emails, and post, and ensuring the safety and security of the service. You will also be responsible for overseeing visitor sign-ins, conducting security checks, and managing the distribution of keys and security badges. What you will be doing

In this exciting role at The Spinney ,a service for a medium and low secure service. each day brings different challenges and experiences. Working 18.75 Hours a week along side the reception team your key responsibilities will be welcoming all visitors in a friendly manner, co-ordinating the office diary for meetings and events and efficiently handling telephone calls, emails and post.

Ensuring the safety and security of service users, staff and visitors is a top priority. You’ll oversee visitor sign ins, conduct security checks and manage the distribution of keys and security badges.

As a Receptionist you will be:

  • Welcoming all visitors in a friendly manner and ensuring the sign the visitor book.
  • Maintaining the upkeep of the reception area & meeting rooms are presentable.
  • Managing the office diary for meetings, events, training days and therapy sessions.
  • Ensuring confidentially and security to the service.
  • Receiving and dealing with telephone calls, emails and post.
  • Ad hoc administration tasks.
  • Ensuring all appropriate leaflets and brochures are on display.
  • Manage deliveries.

  • Must be professional, confident and diplomatic
  • GCSE English Language Grade C or above
  • Be efficient and enthusiastic

Where you will be working:

Location: Everest Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9NT   

You will be working at The Spinney, a service which offer a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11 acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.

You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at The Spinney who have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting
