As a Bank Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the facility's services and equipment are fit for purpose, repairing any faults, and undertaking planned maintenance to maintain a safe environment for service users, staff, and visitors.

Main duties of the job

The Bank Maintenance Assistant role involves assisting with ensuring the service, buildings, facilities, and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose. You will utilize good DIY skills to maintain safety, undertake planned preventive maintenance, assist in the repair and maintenance of all buildings, and support decorating tasks. You will also liaise with the manager to report faults and defects, participate in an on-call rota for emergency maintenance, and coordinate and support contractors while they are on-site.

Join The Avalon Centre in Swindon as a Bank Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Bank Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors whilst undertaking planned maintenance.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. 

Whether you’re looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, after completing a paid two-week induction, you’ll have access to available shifts at the Avalon Centre in Swindon.

There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.

As a Bank Maintenance Assistant, you will be:

  • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
  • Undertaking planned preventive maintenance.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.

  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

  • Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.

Location: The Avalon Centre, Edison Park Hindle Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3RT 

You will be working at The Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury. 

The centre has been designed specifically to support people with Neurological conditions, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.
