Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism conditions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

What you will be doing:

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift patterns include working 7.5 hours a day on shifts 7am - 2.30pm and 2.30pm -10pm, including weekends on a rota basis. Permanent, 37.5 hours full - time contract. Extra hours are optional.

21b Upper Brighton Road is part of our learning disability and autism division and provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be seen as challenging.
